The 3rd International Symposium on Carcinoid Heart Disease will be held in person at Sheffield City Hall on Tuesday 5th of December.
Carcinoid heart disease is a major complication of neuroendocrine tumours, resulting in right heart valve disease that leads to dilatation and right ventricular failure. Surgical valve replacement offers significant reduction in symptoms and may extend life but is performed at high risk in these complex patients.
This day is aimed at clinicians, cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, anaesthetists, neuroendocrine tumour specialists, nurses and allied health professionals who have an interest in the care of patients with carcinoid heart disease.
Topics will cover treatment, patient selection and optimisation prior to valve surgery as well as peri and postoperative management of patients with carcinoid heart disease.
