The Invisible Cancer
On World Cancer Day 2026, NCUK launches their report, The invisible cancer: How delays, misdiagnosis and unequal treatment of neuroendocrine cancer in the UK are costing lives, calling for greater recognition and understanding of neuroendocrine cancer. This report is endorsed by UKI NETS.
With greater awareness we hope to achieve earlier diagnosis, so that people receive timely treatment and support that can change lives.
Neuroendocrine cancer is largely invisible, and the consequences are significant. It is missed, misdiagnosed and misunderstood. It takes an average of 4.5 years to be diagnosed from first symptom, and this delay causes real harm. Our report calls for greater recognition and understanding, with the aim of supporting earlier diagnosis and better care.
