The UKINETS Education and training committee have had another busy season. We delivered a highly successful free webinar on Updates in oncological therapies in NENs on 25/9/24. We were treated to a truly excellent overview on systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) from Pro Nick Reed. This was followed by Prof Jon Wadsley summarising insights into PRRT and what to expect in the future. Finally Dr Debashis Sarker enlightened us with current trials and research directions. Feedback has been excellent so far with attendee’s finding the webinar excellent (70%) and good in the remainder. The Teams platform remains the unanimous media of choice. This was webinar number 6 from UKINETs. We look forward to delivering a further 3 webinars next year covering topics such as: theranostics, fertility and reproduction in NET and PERT and diarrhoea in NENs. To catch up if you have missed any webinars look out for the recent recordings on the UKINETs website and the previous talks will be in the members area.
This year’s face to face NETs for Newcomers 2024 was in Oxford and once again this one day introduction proved to be a huge success with a nutrition session being a welcome new addition. We are planning the next course so watch out for the announcements at UKINETs for date and venue confirmation. This is open to everyone wanting to develop or enhance an interest in NETs.
Over the last few years we have also worked closely with NCUK developing HCP literature and educational videos for medical students and non specialist healthcare professionals.
We also thank members of the ETC who have stood down warmly welcome our new members Dr Kalyan Shekhda and Dr Dominique Clements.
We look forward to an exciting new year of education in 2025 and welcoming a new ETC chair.
