Last year, UKINETS chair, Prof John Ramage, cycled to Paris to raise awareness of NETs and raise funds for the NET Patient Foundation. This year, APTED, the French NET patient association, decided to plan a return journey.
IPSEN helped APTED organise the return ride to Winchester. The team left Paris on 24 June, and arrived in Winchester on 27 June. Professor Ramage joined the team, composed mainly of patients and carers, and accompanied them to Winchester where they were greeted at a reception in the Guildhall. Mayor of Winchester Jane Rutter gave a warm welcoming speech – in French – and local patients, nurses and physicians were there to share experiences – and a delicious cream tea – with the visitors.
